Question via email
Because of some distractions and not able to  focus on studies during my graduation. I was not able to complete my 3 years degree on time. It took me 2 years extra. I am quite confident that I will make it to interview but will this thing be a -ve factor?
answer
  • It doesn't matter. If you failed in one of the semesters or couldn't complete your graduation within the normal 3 years duration, UPSC doesn't care. UPSC cares only to see that you're minimally qualified as a Graduate.
  • Unlike CAT and IIMs,  UPSC doesn't give consideration your 10,12 and Graduation marks. Just passing is sufficient.
  • I remember one Dentist topper in IAS exam who himself claimed that he failed in a few years during his college.
