• Finally UPSC notification for Prelims (CSAT) 2012 is out
• Last date to fill up the application : 5th March 2012
• Do read the following PDF File religiously, thoroughly and carefully before filling application.

• Most people don't go through the notification, then they make mistakes in filling up the form and later on keep asking stupid questions on forum or via email without even searching first.
• Do read the damn notification, there is a reason why UPSC puts on an elaborate notification of 31 pages.

(Frequently answered answers)

1. You cannot claim exemption in 'language-paper' unless you're are hailing from the North-Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur,Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland and Sikkim. (Read the damn UPSC Notification PDF file)

3. If you get admission card (hall-ticket) for prelims but remain absent on the prelims-examination day= your attempt is not counted.

4. If you've not decided your optionals yet, don't worry, fill up application with any optionals because you'll be given a new form after clearing prelims exam, you can change your optionals there.

5. There is no need to fill up multiple forms of same prelims-exam for 'safety'. If you fill up multiple forms, UPSC may or may not send you multiple hall-tickets. In any case use only one hall-ticket.

6. DO take print out of your filled up application form,
In case you don't get hallticket on time, you can show the evidence to UPSC, and they will accomodate you.
